Flashes of Hope is a nonprofit organization that changes the way children with cancer and other life threatening illnesses see themselves through the gift of photography and raises money for pediatric cancer research.

The portraits, taken by award-winning photographers, help children feel better about their changing appearance by celebrating it. For families of terminally ill children, it's especially important to have a portrait that preserves forever the beauty, grace and dignity of their child.

Founded by a 9-year old cancer patient, our new program "Kick It" raises money for research through kickball games. 100% of the proceeds fund pediatric, adolescent and young adult cancer research. For more information, please visit www.kick-it.org.

Description

For a few moments, it doesn't seem like a hospital. Children who haven't wanted to get out of bed are suddenly laughing and smiling. And, nurses take a break from administering medicine to join in the fun.

Each month our volunteers transform hospital playrooms, waiting areas and even hallways into photography studios. Talented make-up artists help the children and their moms look and feel their best. Then each child is photographed individually and with their closest supporters - siblings, parents and often a favorite nurse.

Each family is presented with framed enlargements, proofs and a CD of all the images so they can make additional prints. Thanks to the efforts of hundreds of volunteers, all services are provided free of charge.

A Flashes of Hope portrait is much more than a picture on the wall. It's an indescribable treasure that forever preserves the grace, dignity and beauty of each child.

    I have had the privilege to do photos for Changing Leads Equine rescue. Horses have always been special to me,  I loved photographing them in hopes that they can put there  best hoof forward in finding there forever homes.   The mission of Changing Leads Equine Rescue (previously known as Riverbluff Rescue Ranch) is to find and rescue horses that have been abused, neglected and/or abandoned. The ranch provides a safe and peaceful environment where children and families can experience the pleasure of equine activities while at the same time gaining knowledge about the responsibility of maintaining and caring for a horse during therehabilitative process with each rescued horse.Our adoptive network service enables us to unite each rescued horse with a qualified adoptive family to continue providing the care, love and support needed to complete the healing for each
horse.
